Applicants from Myanmar, the largest group, decreased by 226, apparently because the situation in the country has been stabilizing since 2007, a year that saw violent repression of antigovernment demonstrations, according to the ministry’s Immigration Bureau.
Those who applied for refugee status in 2010 included 342 people from Myanmar, 171 from Sri Lanka, 126 from Turkey, 109 from Nepal, and 91 from India. The number of Nepalese more than doubled from the previous year.
The number of foreigners who were not given refugee status but were allowed to stay in Japan on humanitarian grounds fell by 138 to 363.
Of the overall total of 402 foreigners who have been granted asylum in Japan through 2010, 356 were people from Myanmar.

- အေရအတြက္အမ်ားဆံုးျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသားမ်ား ဒုကၡသည္ေလွ်ာက္ထားသည့္ဦးေရမွာ ၂၂ဦးက်ဆင္းခဲ့သည္။
- ထိုသို ့ေလ်ာ့နည္းရသည့္အေၾကာင္းမွာ အစိုးရဆန္ ့က်င္ဆႏၵျပမွဳမ်ားအဓိကဂုဏ္းမ်ားျဖစ္ပြားျပီးသည့္ ၂၀၀၇ ခု ႏွစ္မွစ၍ တိုင္းျပည္သည္တည္ျငိမ္လာေသာေၾကာင့္ျဖစ္သည္ဟု ၀န္ၾကီးဌာန၏ လ.၀.က သတင္းအရသိရသည္။
- ၂၀၁၀ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ ဒုကၡသည္ေလွ်ာက္ထားသူမ်ားမွာျမန္မာမွ ၃၄၂ ဦး သိရိလကာၤ မွ ၁၇၁ ဦး တူရကီ မွ ၁၂၆ ဦး နီေပါ မွ ၁၀၉ ဦးႏွင္ အိႏၵိယ ၉၃ ဦးတုိ ့ျဖစ္ၾကျပီး ၊ လြန္ခဲ ့သည့္ႏွစ္ကထက္စာလွ်င္ နီေပါ ႏိုင္ငံသားသည္ ၂ ဆေက်ာ္ပိုမ်ားလာခဲ့သည္။
- ဂ်ပန္ႏိုင္ငံတြင္ဒုကၡသည္အျဖစ္အသိအမွတ္ျပဳမခံရေသာ္လည္းလူသားခ်င္းစာနာေထာက္ထားမွဳအရေနထုိင္ခြင့္ရရွိ

- ၂၀၁၀ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ဂ်ပန္၌ခံုလံွဳခြင့္ရသည့္ႏိုင္ငံျခားသားအေရအတြက္မွာ ၄၀၂ဦးရွိျပီး၎အထဲတြင္ျမန္မာလူမ်ိဳး ၃၅၆ ဦးပါ၀င္သည္။
